If I cannot handle the struggles of this present moment,

If I take all this luxury, comfort, and abundance for granted,

If every small misstep is a catastrophe,

If I cannot bear this tame and transitory suffering,

especially that which I have wrought and manufactured by my own doing,

then how will I ever be ready for when the world truly needs me?
